Join us for a ‘Help Not Handcuffs’ virtual canvassing training led by our coalition partners, Orleans Parish Prison Reform Coalition (OPPRC) to learn about this public safety issue and how to safely and effectively provide community outreach and canvassing in YOUR community. Canvassing and outreach are critical in raising public awareness about the ‘Help Not Handcuffs’ campaign and community meetings to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to participate and share thoughts on reimagining public safety with non-police crisis response teams. In turn, this will also allow us to center the voices and lived experiences of those most affected by the mishandling of emergency and mental health crisis response in the city. Your time and support will bring us one step closer to building a crisis response team that will minimize trauma and provide adequate resources to our most vulnerable neighbors.
